This introductory level wine shows the true quality that can be achived by German Riesling, even at this price level. The wine has fresh, floral perfumes. Light citrus and crisp apple notes on the palate, finishing with a lemon/lime twist. VINEYARD With nearly 800 years of viticulture experience, Schloss Vollrads is one of the oldest wine estates, not only in Germany, but probably in the world. Situated in the heart of the Rheingau, the estate’s 60 hectares of vineyards are planted exclusively with Riesling. GRAPE VARIETIES 100% Riesling VINIFICATION Fermentation was long and gentle, at low temperatures in stainless steel tanks. The wine underwent malolactic fermentation to balance the acidity. The Castle label Riesling is always the first wine to be bottled and released by Schloss Vollrads each year. TASTING NOTE Bright and light in colour, with fresh, floral perfumes on the nose.
