VdP SAUVIGNON 2006 VIGNERONS DE VALENCAY
This wine comes from the Valencay co-operative in the Loire Valley and is a Vin de Pays (country wine). It is made by talented winemaker Sebastian Vaillant and is 100% Sauvignon. It is dry yet aromatic with good depth on the mid palate that makes it highly quaffable. It has a fragrant nettley character and crisp acidity on the finish.
VINEYARD
This clay soil is found in these vineyards on the Loire Valley. It gives the captivating mineral quality to all the best wines made in this area.
GRAPE VARIETIES
100% Sauvignon Blanc, which is unusual for a Valencay wine, a typical version having some Chardonnay blended in.
VINIFICATION
Gentle pressing in a pneumatic press is followed by a long, slow fermentation in temperature controlled vats to maximise perfumes and fruit character. The must was fermented in stainless steel tank.
TASTING NOTE
