VIÑA IZADI RIOJA RESERVA 2003 Continuing the Izadi approach of making modern style wines, this reserve does show more wood ageing than the crianza. Izardi are really making some great wines and this shows a lovely red fruit character along with a smoky, spicy finish from the oak ageing - cracking! LOPEZ HEREDIA VIÑA TONDONIA RESERVA 1998 Bodegas R Lopez de Heredia are totally traditional in their approach to making Rioja. This means that the wines are made in the classical, wood aged style and only released when they are ready, which can be an acquired taste, but these are great, classical Riojas.
