NEGRO BARBERA d'ALBA BRIC BERTU 2003 NEGRO BARBERA d'ALBA BRIC BERTU 2003

This wine is a classic Barbera d'Alba from a great producer. A lovely deep colour and classic cherry aromas open out into a black fruit and plum palate. This wine has the potential to age 10+ years, but can be enjoyed immediately.

VINEYARDS
This wine comes from the village of Monteu Roero and the Bric Bertu vineyard. This vineyard is at an altitude of 340 m above sea level with a southerly exposure and calcareous clay soils. The vines have an average age of 40 years are planted at at density of 4000/ ha. The vineyard yields are kept low at 31 hl/ha. The grapes were picked by hand in October.

Deep, almost opaque red colour. Blackberry and cherry on the nose. Warm in mouth, it is reminicent of ripe fruits and plum jam. Fat and spicy finish. This wine is drinking nicely now, but would easily age for 10+ years.
