MASSOLINO BAROLO 'PARAFADA' 2002 MASSOLINO BAROLO 'PARAFADA' 2002

This wine is Massolino's modern style Barolo, still showing great structure but displaying attractive fresh fruit and intensity of flavour. This wine is made to drink much earlier than the more structured traditional Barolos, so is a great option for current drinking.

VINEYARD
Fruit for this wine is grown in the 1.5 ha Parafada vineyard, situated at an altitude of 330 metres above sea level. The soil is composed of marl and limestone. The vines are Guyot trained and are planted at a density of 5,800 vines per hectare. The average age of these vines is 45 years. Fruit was hand picked in the second half of October.

GRAPE VARIETIES
100% Nebbiolo

VINIFICATION
Fermentation and maceration of the skins. The fermentation was quick, lasting just five days at 37ºC, followed by a period in barriques, where the wine remained for 24 months and a further year in bottle before release.

TASTING NOTE
Great depth of ruby red colour, it is excellent for drinking relatively young due to the vintage conditions. This wine displays deliciously soft rounded fruit.

Per Bottle £32.99
