MARQUÉS DE CASA CONCHA SYRAH 2008 MARQUÉS DE CASA CONCHA SYRAH 2008

This wine was named after the title bestowed upon the founder of the vineyard by the Spanish monarchy. The Marqués de Casa Concha Syrah has a deep red colour, a very ripe, dense and fruity nose and rich and bright fruit showing the quality of Syrah that can be achieved in Chile with the right conditions and careful winemaking.

Was £9.95 now £8.50!!!!

VINEYARD
The Marqués de Casa Concha Merlot is made from grapes source from the Quinta de Maipo Vineyard (Buin) in the Rapel Valley.

The vineyard has riverbench associated soils, alluvial, stony, poor in nutrients and highly permeable due to the gravel sub-soil.The climate is very dry and cool; strongly influenced by the Andes Mountains and La Niña effect.

GRAPE VARIETIES
100% Syrah

VINIFICATION
The grapes were hand-harvested in April 2008.

The must was fermented in stainless steel tanks before being matured for 18 months in French oak barrels (36% in new and 64% 2nd or 3rd use).

TASTING NOTE
The wine has a dark and deep red colour with a very ripe and dense nose, offering solid blackberry and cherry flavours. At the end a lasting smoky yet rich black-tar.
The palate is firm, with fine grained tannins supporting bright fruit. There's already some complexity beginning to develop out of its firm, quiet, supple core.
