EMILIO LUSTAU MANZANILLA PAPIRUSA SHERRY NV

I'm delighted to say that people are slowly starting to "get" Sherry. And the finest and most flexible of all sherries has to be Manzanilla. Coming from the esteemed house of Lustau, this Papirusa Manzanilla is fresh, tangy and has the slight saltiness you should expect from a good Manzanilla. Perfect with any sort of tapas or just on it's own as an aperitif.

VINEYARD
Bodegas Emilio Lustau was founded in 1896 and currently owns 220 hectares of vines, with one vineyard in one in Chipiona and one in Montegilillo, to the north and north-east of Jerez de la Frontèra respectively.

All the soils are the classic albariza of Jerez

GRAPE VARIETIES
100% Palomino Fino

VINIFICATION
The grapes are harvested in early September and only the free run juice is used. The must then undergoes temperature controlled fermentation before being fortified in preparation to the ageing process.

The wine is aged in American oak casks, in the humid and salty environment of Sanlúcar de Barrameda, a small town located on the estuary of the river Guadalquivir to make a classic Manzanilla.

TASTING NOTE
The Papirusa Manzanilla has a pale straw colour, with a hint of the sea breeze on the nose and the palate. It is the perfect dry aperitif, an ideal match for fish and seafood.
