LUSTAU EAST INDIA SOLERA SHERRY NV

The Lustau East India Solera Sherry is a lovey rich, sweet Sherry giving aromas of sweet nuts, crème brûlée and mature dark fruit, leading to a rich, full bodied palate with flavours of raisins, candied peel and nuts. Serve with light desserts, cakes or cheeses.

VINEYARD
Bodegas Emilio Lustau was founded in 1896 and currently owns 220 hectares of vines, with one vineyard in one in Chipiona and one in Montegilillo, to the north and north-east of Jerez de la Frontèra respectively

All the soils are the classic albariza of Jerez

GRAPE VARIETIES
Palomino Fino and Pedro Ximénez

VINIFICATION
The grapes are harvested in early September and only the free run juice is used. The must then undergoes temperature controlled fermentation before being fortified in preparation to the ageing process.

Then each individual component of this blend (Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez) is aged in its own Solera. After blending, the wine is further aged for three years in a solera of 33 American oak casks before bottling.

TASTING NOTE
A dark mahogany colour with bronze hues. Concentrated aromas of ripe fruits, mocca, cocoa and toffee.

Very complex on the palate, with a clean acidity and flavour of raisins, nuts, crystallized orange and candied peel.
