LOS GANSOS CHARDONNAY 2009

Los Gansos (The Geese) are a symbol of Cono Sur's environmental policies. The wild geese help keep parasites and pests away from the vine without the use of harmful pesticides. The wine itself is an impressive combination of cirtus and stone fruit, a little minerality and some soft and subtle oak. A great match for seafood, white meat and lightly spiced food.

VINEYARD
The grapes for this wine were grown in the Central Valley in Chile. The vineyard has low fertility, alluvial and gravely soils with subsoil that is sandy with a bit of clay

GRAPE VARIETIES
100% Chardonnay

VINIFICATION
The grapes were handpicked both and mechanically picked in March 2009 at a yield of 11 tonnes/ ha.

The must was fermented stainless steel before being aged for a further 3 to 10 months in stainless steel with oak staves.

TASTING NOTE
This Chardonnay has an impressive bright yellow colour. It has a very fruity nose, where aromas of citrus fruits and white peaches mingle with mineral hints and soft toasty oak. On the palate it has complexity with fruit flavours, minerality and with a great acidity.
