POGGIOTONDO 'CERRO DEL MASSO' CHIANTI 2008 You can't go wrong with a good Chianti. Sadly good Chianti isn't that easy to come by, but this version, made by flying winemaker and all round good egg Alberto Antonini. It offers a lovely perfumed character, soft and round tannins and really attractive red fruit character. A great value young Chianti. PODERI ALDO CONTERNO BAROLO 2004 Aldo Conterno is one of the finest producers of Barolo. This was a great year in Piemonte and it breaks the "drought" of 2002 and 2003 as the family declassified the grapes due to poor vintages. 2004 however is a superb year, with fine balance with perfect depth and structure and all the perfume you would expect from a great Barolo.
