GOAT ROTI 2006 GOAT ROTI 2006

Made as a classic Côte Rotie blend, this wine displays lovely ripe fruit, a delicate perfume (from the Viognier) and silky tannins. A good interpretation of the "real thing" with a great name to boot!

VINEYARD
The vineyard is a 300ha farm on the south-west-facing slopes of Paarl Mountain, a granite rock outcrop in the heart of the Paarl wine district, viticulturally among the most historic and influential areas of the Cape winelands.
The grapes are sourced from Fairview and a portion from selected dryland vineyards in Malmesbury. The seasoning effect of the Viognier adds complexity to the spiciness of the Shiraz.

GRAPE VARIETIES
96% Shiraz, 4% Viognier

VINIFICATION
The grapes were picked in February 2004. The Shiraz and Viognier were co-fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks. Once pressed the wine was transferred to new, second and third fill French and American oak where it remained for 14 months until bottling

TASTING NOTE
This wine is deep vibrant purple in colour, with ripe fruit and peppery aromas. Juicy layered ripe fruit on the palate and silky tannins. This wine is drinking well now and will develop for at least five years in bottle.

Per Bottle £8.99
