The domaine is now run by Francois and Jean-Marie Cherrier and the long tradition of wine making in the family is not lost on them. This is a textbook Sancerre; dry with lovely citrus character, a deep and savoury mineraility and considerable length. VINEYARD Domaine de la Rossignole is located near the commune of Verdigny, northwest of the village of Sancerre. The family Cherrier represents three generations of Sancerre winemakers, with 14 hectares of vineyards. The vineyards are rich in silex and chalk. Cheerier and his sons perform multiple green harvests to keep yields low, and harvest all their fruit by hand. GRAPE VARIETIES 100% Sauvignon Blanc VINIFICATION The wine is 100% stainless steel tank fermented before being matured on the lees for a period of time. TASTING NOTE This wine has a medium straw colour a powerful aroma of grass, herbs and minerals along with a deeply intense lemon zest, slate and minerally palate. Perfect!
