This is a wine that is black cherry in colour, with stunning flavours of spice, roasted vanilla and truffle. Perfect for the red meat lovers! VINEYARD Domaine de Montplo is located on a Villafranchienne terrace made of gravel from the former rive Cesse. This terroir is characterised by two types of soils : Argilo-limestone and Sablo-argilo-acid Both types of soil are deep and free draining soils that are able to limit negative effects of rain, especially before and during harvest time. The Vineyard is at an altitude of 200 meters and provides cold nights in summertime and is therefore essential to the slow maturation of the grapes. GRAPE VARIETIES Syrah, Grenache, Carignan VINIFICATION The grapes are picked by hand at optimum maturity in the cool mornings, are then collected into small boxes and are quickly carried into the cellar. The grapes are destemmed, before being fermented naturally with regular Pigeage, remontage and délestage . Each variety is vinified separately. In February, once wines are assembled, they are separated in two batches. A part remains in tank and the other part is transferred in barrels for 12 to 18 months, before being finally blended to the final wine. TASTING NOTE The wine has a black cherry colour with stunning flavours of spice, roasted vanilla and truffle. A great complement to all types of red meat and barbecues.
