DOG POINT SAUVIGNON BLANC 2009

Dog Point Vineyard is a newly established winery situated in the Wairau Valley. It combines the considerable wine growing experience of Ivan and Margaret Sutherland and James and Wendy Healy (both from Cloudy Bay). The philosophy is total involvement by the partners from the vineyard through the wine making process to marketing regionally distinctive and vineyard expressive wines.

VINEYARD
Dog Point Vineyard is situated at the confluence of the Brancott and Omaka Valleys and is one of the oldest privately established vineyards in Marlborough. The property owned by Ivan and Margaret Sutherland with its undulating terrain, clay loam soils and desirable northerly aspect is sensitively planted to Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and farmed using sustainable viticultural practices.

GRAPE VARIETIES
100% Sauvignon Blanc

VINIFICATION
Grapes are all hand-picked and the wine is fermented and matured in stainless steel made, with minimal racking and handling. It's a non-interventionist, natural, hands-off technique that characterizes all Dog Point Wines.

TASTING NOTE
The wine displays a bright straw green colour with a bouquet of ripe tropical and citrus fruits infused with ripe citrus notes, complemented by lifted hints of lemongrass and passionfruit.. The palate has excellent texture, with fine acidity, a degree of minerality and a lasting, refreshingly crisp finish.
