Their basic white is predominantly a Bordeaux blend with a little Chardonnay and Verdelho to add complexity and richness. Attractive rich fruit character and considerable length complete the picture. VINEYARD The soils at Cullen are old, granite and gravely sandy loam, overlaying lateric subsoils. GRAPE VARIETIES 51% Sauvignon Blanc, 28% Semillon, 18% Chardonnay, 3% Verdelho VINIFICATION All grapes were hand-harvested and sorted before crushing. Fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks at low temperatures before being bottled under Stelvin. TASTING NOTE Light straw in colour with green tinges. On the nose it is lightly perfumed, with hints of lemon, lime and a slightly richer, vanilla custard note added by the Chardonnay. On the palate it is clean and fresh, with a ripe, rounded fruit character given more depth by the high quality and power of the Chardonnay in this vintage which dovetails with the other varieties perfectly.
