It is a vibrant wine with an intense lemon, grapefruit, honeysuckle and flowery nose along with a crisp, lemon palate. Lovely! VINEYARD The Mangan vineyard, which is owned and managed by Rick Cullen with supervision from Cullen Wines, is dry farmed and maintained using a biodynamic approach to viticulture. This is the first time the Sauvignon Semillon has been 100% from this vineyard. Soils are old, granite and gravely sandy loam, overlaying lateric subsoils. GRAPE VARIETIES 60% Sauvignon Blanc, 40% Semillon VINIFICATION All grapes were hand-harvested and sorted before crushing. 30% of the blend was fermented with wild yeasts and 15% of the Sauvignon Blanc was fermented in new French oak barrels where it remained for three months. TASTING NOTE Brilliant pale straw in colour, the wine has a vibrant blend of intense lemon, grapefruit, honeysuckle and floral perfumes on the nose which follows through to a crisp, fine lemony fruit character on the palate.
