Made in tiny quantities, this wine displays all the concentration, complexity and perfume one would expect from a World class wine. VINEYARD The soils at Cullen are old granite and gravelly sandy loam, overlaying lateric subsoils. The Cabernet Sauvignon vineyard comprises 11.33 hectares and was planted in 1971. The Merlot vineyard was planted in 1976 and covers 1.76 hectares. The vines are Scott Henry trellised, which yields grapes of high tannins and flavours. GRAPE VARIETIES 79% Cabernet Sauvignon, 16% Merlot, 4% Cabernet Franc, 1% Petit Verdot VINIFICATION The grapes were grown biodynamically and picked when at perfect physiological ripeness, at must weights ranging from 12.1-13.7° Baumés. The varieties were vinified separately and aged for 19 months in French oak of which 70% was new. TASTING NOTE Deep, inky red in colour, with a youthful purple meniscus. On the nose it is young and concentrated, with dark berry fruit perfumes and spicy oak notes. The palate is intense and powerful, with black cherry fruit beautifully blended with fine grained tannins. Per Bottle £32.00 Quantity:
