CONO SUR 20 BARRELS PINOT NOIR 2007

Cono Sur 20 Barrels Pinot Noir is an elegant, voluptuous Pinot Noir with amazing finesse and complexity. This is a sophisticated wine, the result of New World fruit vinified according to Burgundy's traditions. This wine won a silver medal at the 2008 International Wine Challenge.

VINEYARD
The Pinot Noir for this wine was sourced from a number of Cono Sur's vineyards; El Triangulo Estate (80%), Lo Ovalle Estate (10%) in the Casablanca Valley and San Juan de Huinca Estate (10%) in the Leyda Valley.

These vineyards have common characteristics of soils with a high sand content and some clay and a climate with gentle temperatures, cool nights and foggy mornings.

GRAPE VARIETIES
100% Pinot Noir

VINIFICATION
The grapes are harvested by hand and after passing along the selection table, the bunches are de-stemmed taking care not to crush the berries.

The fruit is then placed in open top tanks where it undergoes carbonic maceration at low temperatures. Later the grapes are foot trodden and colour extraction is enhanced by means of manual cap immersion. After fermentation the wine is placed in 100% new French oak barrels, where it ages for approximately 12 months.

TASTING NOTE
Deep in appearance with a beautiful clean and bright ruby red colour, 20 Barrels Pinot Noir presents amazing finesse and complexity in the nose, with notes of cherries, strawberries, raspberries and plums and hints of leather. To taste, the wine expresses intense sweet fruits, balancing elegance, rich and concentrated texture and flavour, with a long soft finish.
