VIÑA FALERNIA MERLOT 2004 Viña Falernia has the distinction of being Chile's most northerly winery, around 300 miles North of Santiago. A great source of good value wine, this Merlot displays a rich deep nose with dark black cherries and some sweet spice. This is a full bodied wine with good, ripe tannins giving enough structure to hold food. VIÑA LEYDA SINGLE VINEYARD CAB SAV 2005 Viña Leyda are a relatively new producer in Chile and are starting to make some excellent wines - they have recently been rated as one of Oz Clarke's "producers to watch" in his 2008 pocket wine guide. The Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a real step up from the reserva wines and represents great value.
