There are plenty of lovers of the famous Yellow Label who refuse point blank to drink anything else. It is an excellent, full bodied, non vintage with an attractive roundness and appetising mousse. It is great with food. WINEYARDS Grapes from as many as 60 vineyards make up the the "yellow label" non-vintage blend GRAPE VARIEITES The usual blend for this wine is 55% Pinot Noir, 15% Pinot Meunier and 30% Chardonnay, although this will vary slightly with each batch. VINIFICATION The wine is made using the traditional Champagne method and then the chef de cave will use considerable stocks of reserve wines wines to make each "batch" into the VC house styles. Each of these older wines (some up to 8 years old) are used to maintain consistency year after year. Veuve has a distinct rich house style. TASTING NOTE A appitising and deceptively pale colour with fine, persistent bubbles -a poised, delicately bready nose - and on the palate a richness of fruit and mouthfilling mousse that lingers for some time.
