OMRAH CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2004 This wine is from the Plantagenet winery in the Mt. Barker area of Western Australia. They are currently winning lots of awards for the quality of their wines. This wine is a very well balanced (a trademark of the winery), without being over-concentrated. Showing lovely perfumes of blackcurrants and raspberries and a structured palate, this is a very attractive wine. MITOLO CABERNET SAUVIGNON 2007 This wine, made by the hugely talented Ben Glaetzer, is a very special and unique wine. This McLaren Vale Cabernet has a vibrant brick red colour with purple hues and a nose of nutmeg, crushed leaves and tar. The palate is blackcurrant and cassis, rich and full-bodied. Some of the grapes were left to raisin slightly, which adds interesting notes of espresso and chocolate. It hails from the Hunter Valley and contains a small amount of Tannat to add structure to the riper, fleshier Shiraz. CHARLES MELTON BAROSSA SHIRAZ 2001 Charles Melton's wines are rarely of the "blockbuster" Barossa Valley type, but show more finesse and balance than most. This wine, made from very old vines displays dark, black fruit and well integrated oak and spiciness, but is not in any way overpowering - great complexity and freshness.
